Yard of the Month
The City of College Place is dedicated to improving the appearance of our community while fostering healthy, safe communities. We encourage residents to take pride in their homes and neighborhoods. In turn, we look to recognize those who do a superior job in maintaining their yards and properties in such a way that they enhance the overall appearance of the community.
The Yard of the Month Program will be awarded during the months of June, July, August and September. An additional award will be presented in the month of December for seasonal decorations. Candidates for the Yard of the Month award will be judged on the exterior appearance of their property and front yard. Upkeep and maintenance of the property is very important. To be eligible, a property must be located within the city limits of College Place.
All award recipients will receive an official “yard of the Month” lawn-sign, to be placed on their property for the duration of their award. Once a new recipient is selected, the sign will be removed and placed on the new recipients’ yard. Recipients will also receive recognition on the official City of College Place web site, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram page.

Code enforcement generally involves the removal of junk, junk vehicles and nuisances from property. Junk and neglected property reduces property value which has a negative impact on our neighbors, business and the entire community. This can create health issues, attract crime, and promote neighborhood disputes.
Failing to comply may result in civil penalties. However, our hope is to gain compliance through communication and education. The initial notice will be a warning followed by civil penalties. Our goal is to promote a safe and healthy community.
Tip – Search online for free metal and car removal companies. Some companies will even pay for hulked vehicles.
