We now have the ability to automatically deduct your monthly utility bill from your checking account. You must be signed up by the 20th of the month for it to be effective for the following month, and all previous amounts must be paid in full.
To take advantage of this new payment method you will need to complete a short form and attach a voided check for account verification. The automatic deduction will occur on the 5th of each month or the next business day if the 5th falls on a weekend or holiday. You will still receive your monthly statement and it will be noted on the statement that it has been “Paid by EFT”.
If the funds are not available at the time of the withdrawal, it will be treated as an NSF, charged back to your account and a $20.00 fee will be added.
If you are interested in this worry free way to pay your utility bill, you can either stop by City Hall to fill out the form or click here to print out the form and send it in. (Do not forget to attach a voided check.)
