Backflow Assembly Testing

An underground irrigation system was once considered a luxury addition to a home’s exterior landscape. Now, it has become much more common and affordable. With this “affordable luxury” comes an elevated risk to the drinking water system. Water contaminated by weed killers, fertilizers and animal waste can backflow into the drinking water through the irrigation system. Controlling backflow from underground irrigation systems is just one of the many facets that the City must undertake to protect the water system from dangerous backflow situations. To protect the community’s drinking water, as well as your own, it is important that you have an approved backflow assembly on your irrigation system. WAC (246-290-490) as well as municipal code 13.06 states that: all irrigation systems… new or existing must be equipped with approved backflow protection. All backflow assemblies must be tested annually by a certified tester.

Please click here for some local Backflow Assembly Testers currently registered to test backflow assemblies in College Place for 2008.

Note: This list consists of backflow assembly testers who have met the minimum requirements of the City of College Place. The City is not affiliated in any way with the backflow assembly testers on this list. Other testers may perform testing and/or repairs within the City as long as they meet the minimum requirements and submit the appropriate certifications, licenses and insurance documentation to the City of College Place for review. Backflow assembly tester’s prices may vary considerably.
